CHD Railroad Passenger Depot

Northside's First commuter Suburb and Passenger Depot

Echo

This 1908 postcard shows the Passenger Depot of Cincinnati, Hamilton, and Dayton Railroad at the corner of Apple Street and Vindalia Avenue. Its opening in 1851 made Northside Cincinnati's first commuter suburb. The railroad was purchased by the Baltimore & Ohio Company in 1917. In 1966, the track crossing at Hamilton Avenue and Hofner Street were removed, eliminating the dusty 5 o'clock special crossings. From the collection of the Public Library in Cincinnati and Hamilton County.
