This 1914 photograph shows the Dillman Café in the Palm Building. Henry Dillman, (1863-1938), built the Palm in 1905 on land bought from the Hofner Estate. He operated the café with his sons Clifford (1886-1957), and Wheeler Dillman, renting rooms above. It was sold in the 1940s to Reds catcher Eugene “Bubbles” Hargrave, who operated it as the Bubbles Hargrave’s Bar and Grille.
