Schmid’s bakery and home at 4167 Hamilton Avenue is shown here in 1900, built in 1893 by Andrew Schmitt (1837-1914) from Wuertemberg, Germany, sons Chester and Albert ran it after his death. Schmid had the bakery delivery service for the east, while Volz bakery cornered the service for the west side of the north side. It was sold to the Grote family in the early 1980s.
