This photograph shows Zachman's furniture store at 4024 Hamilton Avenue in 1908. Thomas P. Zachman, (1857-1956), took over the wallpapering and upholstering businesses from his German immigrant father, Philip J. Zachman (1822-1893) when he died. Thomas expanded into furniture and built this Queen Anne commercial with a unique two-story cast iron storefront in 1893 as his showroom.
